Hi Alexander,

Thanks for the information.

BTW have you ever used BIRD’s BGP/MPLS functionality? It will be really great if you can share me usage details (i.e. any documentation) for the same.

Yes, we are using more or less the same version in production.
As I said before, examples of using it w.r.t to VPN features: http://bird.mpls.in/projects/mpls-bird/wiki/Bird_rr
The rest remains the same as in stock bird.
It is not exactly "documentation" -  feel free to ask any questions :)

Thanks

Vikram

Hi All,

Hello.

Does any of the BIRD release supports BGP/MPLS L3VPN (i.e. RFC-4364)  functionality?

There is an unofficial patchset based (currently) on bird-1.3.9:

It can be downloaded from http://bird.mpls.in/distfiles/bird/bird-20130301.tar.gz

Docs (and git) are available athttp://bird.mpls.in/projects/mpls-bird/wiki/Bird_rr

However, there are some drawbacks like non-fully working filters and some other issues that may arise.

As far as I know, there is WIP on bringing VPNvX BGP support to official bird.

Ondrej Zajicek can probably tell more about that.
