Hi! New version is ready, completely prepared by Santiago, good job. :-) Version 1.2.2 (2010-04-10) o Much better BSD kernel support (IPv6, alien routes, ...). o Deep OSPF socket changes, fixes OSPFv2/v3 behavior on BSD. o OSPFv2 in Linux now supports more non-stub IP prefixes on one physical iface. o Export of device routes to the kernel is more restricted. o Routes with strange scope not allowed in BIRD routing tables. o New filterable route attributes bgp_originator_id, bgp_cluster_list and ospf_router_id. o Restricted read-only CLI (option -r). o Pattern matching for 'show protocols' command. o BGP protocol details in 'show protocols all' command. o Configurable syslog name (and default on IPv6 changed). o Statistic counters for pipes were fixed. o Many bugfixes in BGP, OSPF, filters, ... All distro packages will follow soon. Ondrej

I wanted to thank you for the new release. The community-bug I've reported is fixed, and the Pattern matching for 'show protocols' command is great and saves me a lot of typing, and now I can finally distinguish between bird and bird6 in my logs! BIRD is great, thank you for your support! Most commercial products have worse support than your great support and quick responses! Builds and works perfectly on FreeBSD 7-Stable (OSPF tested only). A lot of thanks for your hard work, guys! -- Eugene Perevyazko

does this include the timestamp fix? On 23.03.2010 08:26 Ondrej Zajicek wrote

Re-installing means that every single route has gotten its timestamp updated. Both master table as well as each per peer table. From that I also conclude that these routes are sent as updates by BGP protocol to BGP neighbors.
No, the timestamp is updated, but the route is the same and therefore is not propagated to other protocols (BGP). You can check that using counters in BGP protocols. Perhaps the fact that timestamp is updated even in this case is misleading.
