Re: Fwd: RIP route withdraw / triggered updates
Hi!
i am trying to be able to withdraw a route advertised via rip with a triggered update .. Currently disappearing routes only seem to be deleted by not advertised anymore.
Patch looks okay to me... but that does not say much. It is long time ago, and I happily forgot most of details of "Rest in pieces" disaster... Pavel -- (english) http://www.livejournal.com/~pavelmachek (cesky, pictures) http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pavel/picture/horses/blog.html

Its not okay as i found out - I think there is a fundamental problem in the rip triggered updates as they stand today. The code currently sends out routes which are not older than 5 seconds, but there is a timer randomization from my understanding. So the code itself has some flaws which causes triggered updates to not get send. I'll see if i'll cook up something more correct - I'd rather use the default 30 second timer and then start a new timer 1-5 seconds like the RFC suggests in case i want a triggered update.
