FYI, I was doing something dumb. When building my configs from my DB, I was setting the start delay to a random int between 20-60, this was causing the BGP config to change every time I ran a config update (hourly), thus restarting the session. -Stephen From: Stephen Holmes Sent: Friday, January 21, 2011 9:40 AM To: Stephen Holmes; 'bird-users@bird.network.cz' Subject: RE: BGP sessions resetting on configure Ignore this. Sometimes it takes a good night's reset and you wake up with the solution. -Stephen From: owner-bird-users@atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz [mailto:owner-bird-users@atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz] On Behalf Of Stephen Holmes Sent: Thursday, January 20, 2011 1:24 PM To: 'bird-users@bird.network.cz' Subject: BGP sessions resetting on configure Is there a preferred way to reload the configuration? I noticed sometimes when we 'configure soft' it will reset the bgp sessions. Is this the normal behavior? Is there another method?
