It is nice to have kept the 1.6 documentation online. However, the table of contents of the 1.6 doc actually points inside the 2.0 doc.

For instance, go to 1.6 doc at

http://bird.network.cz/?get_doc&f=bird.html&v=16

and click on "6.3 BGP": it will lead to

http://bird.network.cz/?get_doc&f=bird-6.html#ss6.3

which is the BGP documentation for bird 2.0. The links are probably simply missing a "&v=16" parameter.
