Just want to add to this thread that I'm seeing this behavior on BIRD as well, I'm seeing this on all the machines that I've installed. I see what you see by annoying now...is there any way to remove this or change it so just OSPF is logged into a difference file? I found my log constantly filling up on all the machines. I looked around in the syslog configuration syntax but didn't see anything relavent. thanks, -bn 0216331C On Wed, May 22, 2013 at 1:41 AM, Ondrej Zajicek <santiago@crfreenet.org>wrote:

Well, there are two possibilities: 1) Use some better syslog (like rsyslog) which allows you to filter out log lines based on their content. 2) You remove this line from BIRD source code: log(L_WARN "OSPF: LSA disappeared (Type: %04x, Id: %R, Rt: %R)", lsr->lsh.type, lsr->lsh.id, lsr->lsh.rt); (it is in proto/ospf/lsupd.c) and recompile BIRD. -- Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo Ondrej 'SanTiago' Zajicek (email: santiago@crfreenet.org) OpenPGP encrypted e-mails preferred (KeyID 0x11DEADC3, wwwkeys.pgp.net) "To err is human -- to blame it on a computer is even more so."
Thanks! Looking like we going to go with the syslog route. -bn 0216331C On Thu, May 30, 2013 at 10:08 AM, Ondrej Zajicek <santiago@crfreenet.org>wrote:

Is there a time frame for completing the "current review of OSPF flood code" ? Tia , JimL

No, it was preempted by some higher priority work. But we could at least remove the warning in the next release.
