Bird as route server and bgp comunities

Stupid question:) Who set up a bird Route server with support for bgp community (a la MSK-IX, SPB-IX)? Be able to share pieces of the config for example. tried to do as in the examples mentioned # Bgp cummunity function bgp_out (int peeras) ( if! (Source = RTS_BGP) then return false; if (0, peeras) ~ bgp_community then return false; if (8861, peeras) ~ bgp_community then return true; if (0,8861) ~ bgp_community then return false; return true; ) protocol bgp Prime_Line { local as 8861; neighbor 178.xx.xx.44 as 42861; import all; export where bgp_out(42861); rs client; route limit 1000; } export where bgp_out(peerad) must be configured on all the neighbors? I have only one set up for test but it did not work: (the user gives us 0:8861 , but still prefixes are announced to all participants Route server

Deleting communities from outgoing prefixes

Hello, I want to store prefixes in RIB with communities but I want to delete communities when prefix is being announced to peer. I'm trying following function: function bgp_out (int peer_as) { if ! (source = RTS_BGP ) then return false; if (0,MyASN) ~ bgp_community then return false; if (0,peer_as) ~ bgp_community then return false; if ( (MyASN,MyASN) ~ bgp_community ) || ( (MyASN,peer_as) ~ bgp_community ) then { bgp_community.delete([ (0,0)..(65535,65535) ]); print bgp_community; return true; } return false; } But communities are not deleted, I see them in debug output. bgp_community.add works as expected. Routes with protocol kernel seem to be handled by the direct protocol. Perhaps it's using the addresses on the interfaces instead. Community lists and ~ operator

Hello, I have a problem with implementing following logic: if route has any of communities 31210:0 ... 31210:65535 then do nothing else add community 31210:31210. I tried next control: if ! ( (31210,*) ~ bgp_community ) then { bgp_community.add((31210,31210)); } print bgp_community; but without success: bird> configure Reading configuration from /usr/local/etc/bird.conf /usr/local/etc/bird.conf, line 61: syntax error Any ideas? Memory seems to grow endless

Hi there, I'm working on a use case with two routers (foundry) emiting RIPv2 messages in multicast over an ethernet link and one Ubuntu/Linux/64 server with BIRD configured as a quiet RIP listener. Configuration is simple and working well. But as you can see below, BIRD seems to eat memory after each message it receive (+4K after receiving 2*3 RIP paquets). Memory used by BIRD seems to grow endless. I' cant say if it's a bug but it sound like. On the mailing list, i've found a thread of three messages speaking about things between libc and kernel. But I'm not sure this is related. Do you have notice this behavior and do you have find a solution ?
