manipulating the best path, eBGP, MED?

Supp, I implemented bird in our Private cloud running proxmox to distribute our public address with eBGP to our serverhost. Through iBGP and a ucarp interface i have a HA gateway, the problem is that our host receives the routes but there are multiple entry points to our subnet ( the proxmox hosts). This makes that a diffrent in & out route doenst work. through following link: https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/126691/understanding-bgp-best-path… I learned that my hosts selects its route based on age ( the bird with the first connection is chosen). Can i send a multi-exit discriminator with my eBGP connection to my host? BGP Monitoring Protocol (BMP) support in Bird?

Hi, I am wondering if somebody is working on BGP Monitoring Protocol (BMP) support in Bird? Note that I'm just asking, I'm not requesting our beloved Bird developers to add this feature with a deadline set to yesterday :) I might try to implement it if nobody else already did. Basically, this is just a way to export BGP data over a TCP connection: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7854 This looks like a useful alternative to dumping to mrtdump files, there are already several free software clients: https://code.google.com/archive/p/bmpreceiver/ http://www.openbmp.org/#!index.md Baptiste

Dear All, I am using bird-lg downloaded from subnet.ru and it is giving output of all the commands for IPv4. bird.client.php is in one server and route server is in remote server. I have enabled IPv6 on bird.lg.conf.php and route server is running properly for IPv6 too as I am able to see the output after entering into the bird6. I am able to see ping6 report only and for other commands,I am getting appended error [ERROR]: BIRD client errors: 1: Socket not found Can anyone help on this. Thanks in advance for your support. Socket error: invalid argument

Hi, I'm running some scalability tests for OSPFv3 using Bird in docker containers. I'm getting some error messages in the logs if I run too many instances. 2017-04-20 21:59:57 <ERR> ospf1: Socket error on ln971_if1: Invalid argument I have 1000 nodes connected linearly (each node connects to two neighbors except the two end nodes that connect to only one neighbor). I'm running Bird 1.6.2 with a kernel version 4.9.0. Is this a memory limitation? Kernel bug? I'll attach the first few lines of the log file.

Simple BGP with two operators, one advertisement and prepending

Hi, I have a pretty simple BGP configuration with two ISP and one static subnet to advertise. There is also one prepending configured but I'm not sure if it's working. The thing is that for some reason when I connect both ISP peers, traffic to the advertised ISP#2 networks (with shorter path) stops working after a couple of seconds. Tracert shows the last hop as ISP#2 border router. Similar configuration on Juniper router works without any problem, so I'm afraid that there is an error within my Bird config. Can you please help me out? PS. Without prepending situation is exactly the same. BGP flowspec support

Hello, am I correct in assuming that bird does currently not support sending bgp flowspec rules (RFC5575) which uses MP_REACH_NLRI attributes?
