how to confirm which capabilities have been negotiated

Hello, Do we have an appropriate command to show which BGP capabilities have been negotiated on bird after a peer has been established? Of course, I known I can recognize when I look into packets captured, or confirm it on the neighbor router by using "show ip bgp neighbor x.x.x.x" command (in the case of CiscoIOS). it wouldn't be smart. BIRD at MSK-IX

Hi, We successfully finished the process of adaptation BIRD to MSK-IX network. Currently BIRD is running on both IPv4 Route Servers (version 1.2.0 with some patches from Ondrej Zajicek). ECMP/multipath support

Hi! BIRD does not support EMCP yet. Looking at the source code, BIRD seems to be able to support ECMP routes internally by adding attaching several route attributes to the same route entry. Is there already someone working on this? ECMP is an important feature when dealing with redundancy. Thanks.

How to add IPv6 support?

I don't see a single bit about this in the documentation ... For quite some time bird served me very well for dynamic routing within a small network using the BGP method. Until the day when I wanted to enable IPv6 on all routers. The Debian distribution ships two packages, bird and bird6, and as far as I can see the only difference is the latter was compiled using the --enable-ipv6 option. Now what am I supposed to do? Is bird6 supposed to do _all_ the work, v4 and v6? If yes, is it a feature bird6 cannot handle IPv4 addresses in the bgp "neighbor" statement (yields "syntax error")? Prefixing into a v6 address using '::ffff:' survives the parser, but these addresses are not routed. Or should I really start bird6 as a second routing daemon to handle the IPv6 prefixes? This is silly since this means duplication of the configuration file and all the peer detection and route switching is not synchronized. What magic did I miss? Christoph

Deleting wildcard bgp communitities in an outbound filter

Hi, i would like to hide some traffic engineering communities from bgp advertisements to peers. I'm using Bird 1.2.4 and from what I have read in the Changelog it should be possible to have something like this in an outbound filter bgp_community.delete((65000,*)); However, this statement generates a syntax error. Pipe collision detected when sending to table

Any hint what we might have messed up? Support for 'show bgp summary'-like command

Hello, When making a looking glass for bird I met a lack of summary-like command for bgp. Attached patch adds 'show bgp summary' command to CLI of birdc. It produces output that looks like Juniper/Cisco-style output. Example: BIRD 1.2.4 ready. bird> show bgp summary Peer AS Last state change Prefixes rcvd/best State/Last error 193.25.x.x 13249 21:11 0/0 Passive 193.25.x.x 20850 21:11 0/0 Passive 193.25.x.x 21011 21:11 0/0 Passive 193.25.x.x 25372 21:12 3/3 Established 193.25.x.x 28097 21:11 0/0 Passive 193.25.x.x 35320 21:11 0/0 Passive 193.25.x.x 42546 21:11 1/1 Passive Socket: Connection closed My integration of command in nest/config.Y is quite dumb but it works.
