Announce prefix to BGP conditional

Hi Is it possible to announce additional prefix in BGP (let's say inject it) conditional ? My configuration is 3 BGP sessions: 1st BGP session to ISP 2nd and 3rd BGP sessions to customers I would like to announce default-route (0.0.0.0/0) via BGP only if I receiving let's say defined 2 prefixes from my ISP. Is it possible at BIRD ? How I can do this ? My ISP will NOT announce default route to me, so I cannot simply re-announce it to my neighbors. Rob

BGP and Redistribute Static with AS-Prepend

Hallo, ist there any way to implement BGP and Redistibute Static with AS-Prepend. I would like to implement following configuration: -------- protocol static { route 2.2.2.2/32 via 10.1.2.1; } protocol bgp test { local as 65501; neighbor 10.2.3.3 as 65501; export filter { if ( source = RTS_STATIC && net = 2.2.2.2/32 ) then { bgp_path.prepend(65502); accept; }; }; }; --------- On the other router i got following: R2#sh ip bgp . Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path *> 2.2.2.2/32 10.2.2.2 0 65502 65501 ? I want this (65501 65502) not (65502 65501). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi List, Seeing the message of Jeff yesterday and the fact I have been trying to get bird to work for a few days now I am pretty sure I need help from soneone setting up bird. We are basically setting up anycast with a few servers at three locations. The servers will need to speak OSPF to a Juniper router which then redistributes the routes accordingly to the internet. We would like to use bird(6) to do this for a few ips setup at the loopback interface (both IPv4 and IPv6). I managed to get quagga ospfd working just fine, ospf6d not unfortunately. Figured switching to bird would help but I can't get IPv4 ospf in bird working either. I read the manual of bird a few times, top to bottom, googled around but didn't got it to work. The servers are running CentOS 6.3, I have compiled bird & bird6 from source. What i need done is a full config for bird & bird6, I tried almost every setting so I think it is best if someone just creates a config from scratch for us. The setup is quite simple honestly, the routers are running ospf and ospfv3. IPs are assigned to the interfaces and loopback. We don't need ospf authentication but do need the bird config/process secured, logging to syslog and just some prefix filtering on what goes out over OSPF. I have no problem paying for it. Hopefully somebody can help me out here. Thanks a lot! Scott

weird routes apparing in linux cache route table

Hi, Linux 3.0.18 (using multiple routing tables with priorities set via ip rule but that's not relevant here I guess), bird 1.3.8 and weird problem. I have simple bird configuration, only one bgp peer. I'm NOT exporting received routes to kernel: protocol kernel { learn; export none; import all; scan time 15; } Now the problem is that there ARE weird routes (for IP X) are appearing in kernel cache table (and not any other) for routes that are received by bird. The weird routes are appearing when openvpn client connects to the same machine from IP X address. Cached routes are like this: IP_X from My_IP dev eth0 If I disable protocol bgp {} section then the problem goes away. I enable it, "configure" and problem reappears. Why bird has influence on linux kernel cache routing table if export none? No clue. configure file missing from git repo?

can't export prefix /19 to ospf but /22 is ok

Hi, In bird i have in routing table: 10.10.96.0/22 dev vlan13 [direct1 Nov19] * (240) 10.10.96.0/19 dev vlan14 [static1 09:12] * (200) and i try to export prefix 10.10.96.0/19 to ospf protocol ospf test { import filter ospf_test_import; export filter ospf_test_export; filter ospf_test_export { if net ~ 10.10.96.0/19 then { accept; } else reject; } protocol static { import all; export all; route 10.10.96.0/19 via "vlan304"; #test#not#helped route 10.10.96.0/22 reject; } and on others ospf routers i see only: Extern 10.10.96.0 mask 255.255.252.0 There is some limit in bird or ospf or bird takes just more precise route ? I'm not sure, but for a while, when i started testing this, i saw /19 but it was a night and i was very tired.. thanks for help Peter

hi I improved the patch for bgp summary from this maillist to show export prefixes.
