bgp export not active route

Hello is it possible export in bgp a route non active ? I receive the same network from more neighbor and only one is active. I would like export to another neighbor those not active for my bird router. thanks Steck

BGP Path manipulation

Hi, I'm working on a Enterprise-network merger where I have to temporarily workaround an AS-Path issue and need to clean the path. I want to use the Filter language for that, http://bird.network.cz/?get_doc&f=bird-5.html For example on those AS-Path: 10.0.0.0/8 65500 65500 65500 192.168.0.0/16 65500 172.16.22.0/24 65500 65122 65100 I want to apply this function: filter bgp_cut_path () { if p.first == 65500 && p.last != 65500 { delete(P, 65500) } then return; } which doesn't touch the first two, but removes 65500 from the third. Patch: Let "make" output be nicer

BIRD removing BGP routes from other daemon - FreeBSD

Hello, I have a particular scenario where my BGP runs with OpenBGP and I can not change it right now. However I want BIRD to use OSPF and BFD. While BIRD works perfectly, better than OpenOSPF for my scenario, when I start it, it completely removes all routes installed by OpenBGP. My kernel context has learn, persist and import: protocol kernel { learn; persist; scan time 10; import all; #export all; graceful restart on; } What should I do to keep BIRD co-operating with other routing daemons? Thank you.

Bird 1.4.5 add-path crash

Hello, I'm seeing Bird 1.4.5 crash with a segmentation fault when receiving routes from a peer with add-path enabled. BIRD config: protocol bgp { direct; description "Juniper"; local as 65065; neighbor a:b:c:a as 65065; add paths rx; gateway direct; import none; export none; } The other side is a Juniper BGP speaker (JunOS 12.3R7), with the following config: neighbor a:b:c:d { family inet6 { unicast { add-path { send { path-count 2; } } } } peer-as 65065; } Session establishment completes, but when the Juniper sends routes Bird crashes. bird becoming unresponsive after a few hours

Hi. I run bird 1.3.7 on a Debian VPS which peers with three IPv4 peers and three IPv6 peers. I have no data plane traffic, as I use these peers to run these two twitter accounts: https://twitter.com/bgp4_table https://twitter.com/bgp6_table I needed more peers, so I moved to a new VPS with 2GB ram. The previous only had 1GB. I have have 7 global IPv4 peers and 7 IPv6 peers. I'm running bird 1.4.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 - I've noticed that if I leave it for about an hour, and then log into birdc and type 'show route count' - bird will stall for about a minute giving no response. At that time, if I check netstat my Recv-Q rapidly increases on all my BGP sessions. Now and then my BGP peers will also go down stating hold time expired. When I check at random times my Recv-Q is high on these sessions. My older server with three peers has never had this issue. Unfortunately bird's log is not showing anything. It only shows when a peer goes down due to the hold time expired. Any ideas on what I can check? Thanks Darren

Bird 1.5.0: protocol 'direct' looses routes

Hi all. I'm testing bird 1.5.0 on PPPoE BRAS, and today noticed that sometimes it looses routes. For ex., today it looses near 5 networks of 103 total (before restart - it has 98 routes, after - 103) Possibly this may be related with tunnel session hangup - when user reconnects with same IP and then old session is dropped, bird may loose this route while route is present in system. But I'm not sure about this.

Support for BGP Flow Spec / RFC 5575

Hello, Bird team! Do you have any plans about BGP Flow Spec (RFC 5575) implementation? It's very important protocol for traffic filtering and DDoS mitigation and it's must for modern route servers. Cisco and Juniper have complete support for it but in open source routing side there are no news on this field :( Fortunately, we have ExaBGP which could generate flow spec announces automatically. And Bird could add partial support for route reflection for flow spec NLRI and we could use ExaBGP as source for flow spec announces. Hello. We have bird 1.4.5 on servers with CentOS 6.5. We use it for advertise loopback sub-interfaces by OSPF. All subifs with /32 mask. We use IPVS+keepalived to bring up and down loopback subifs. Hi, How to export prefixes configured on loobback interfaces through OSPF. working fine with BGP. following is the configuration that I have tried. But 192.168.1x.1 are not shown in neighbor's route table.
