Malformed AS_PATH error

Hi, I am seeing this error message in bird's log and I am unable to find reason. <RMT> PEER: Error: Malformed AS_PATH: 40022002080000b8800000b8800000b8 Weird thing is that if my peer sends me just his prefixes everything is alright. When he sends me full IP table and I apply filter to accept just my peer prefixes, the error occurs again. I have theory, that when BIRD reads route with a malformed path even if he does not accept it, it drops BGP connection with this error. So I have 2 questions. Am I correct in my theory? Problem running/compiling bird for ARM

Hello, I read the FAQ on the wiki, and every thread I could find on this list to try and track down how to stop this message hitting my logs every 15 seconds (and filling them every few days), but I have had no luck. I'm just doing bgp, no OSPF, my kernel protocol already is in 'learn' mode, so I set the preference to 100000, but that didn't change anything. Prefix for BIRD maillist emails

Hi chaps, Just an small cosmetic detail to whoever is responsible for the mail list. Perhaps would be nice to have on every email subject sent by the Maillist system the Prefix [BIRD] or [BIRD-Users] to identify more clearly the incoming emails. Would it be possible to consider it ? Way to use Bird as route server

Hi there, just doing some tests with Bird as route server, but the result was not the desired. Other staff like RTBH is running fine. The situation is that next-hop is not modified (used only RS CLIENT option). All are eBGP sessions. Checked some examples around and found no way to deploy correctly. rfc5185 - Multiarea Adjacency

Hi. Does bird support the RFC 5185 ? I need to use it with a JunOS device. Seems like in Junos there's a problem with situation when two routers have more than one neighborship over some links that are in different areas (the usual workaround for this). Thanks.

Feature request: static routes to not directly connected gateways

Hi, It would be nice to be able to use "indirect" gateways, i.e. which are routed via interface but are not part of interface networks, like this: protocol static { route 10.1.1.0/24 via "eth0"; route 10.2.1.0/24 via 10.1.1.1; } Linux supports this, so it would be really useful and opens interesting opportunities, like automatically adding routes once specified gateway becomes reachable after adding an interface-bound route (either outside or inside of Bird). One possible application (from my actual configuration) is routing of specific networks through VPN gateway - the gateway itself is in /30 transfer network (and this could not be changed easily) so I could not make it reachable directly on more than one Bird router simultaneously.
