Why routes have no attribute source = RTS_STATIC ?

Which you can see from the output of show route preexport bgp1 You may add something like: protocol static { route 192.168.1.0/24 reject; } Or this could be some real route in case you do not run some IGP. Hi All! I have established a bgp session to my isp using bird. I have one problem. The session works great but it doesn't advertise my inetnum. I can't find it in the documentation how to define my inetnum and how to advertise it? bgp protocol info in passive mode

Hello Bird-users, Currently making some monitor scripts, and working on that i noticed a little difference with 2 (ipv4 and ipv6) export-only bgp protocols. ipv4: bird> show protocols name proto table state since info <snip> bgp_Arjan_Filius BGP master start Jun25 Passive ipv6: bird> show protocols name proto table state since info <snip> bgp_Arjan_Filius BGP master start Jun25 Idle Notice the difference in the info field on both the ipv6 and ipv4 definition i'd used the "passive on;" statement Both the protocol definitions are exactly the same, apart from the neighbor definition. The only difference is the ipv4 neigbor is in a direct connected subnet, where the ipv6 isn't. After "fixing" the ipv6 passive neigbor to a direct connected ip i got the "Passive" in the info field. I'm not sure what is the correct behaviour, but displaying passive when actually passive eases my monitoring scripts. Regards -- Arjan Filius mailto:iafilius@xs4all.nl

May have found an ipa_classify bug in OSPFv3 BIRD

I was trying out BIRD on a work router, and notice that it is rejecting my ULA-based addresses on the interfaces, but not the global ones (I use two subnets: one for internal work stuff that rarely changes & one for public access that can change with our tunnel broker/v6 access). Is anyone able to enable support for the fc00::/7 range? Nagios plugin

Hello list, Here's a quick plug-in for Nagios to monitor a specific protocol: http://github.com/stephank/nagios-bird I wrote this, because a quick Google and search through this list's archives didn't turn up anything. Correct me if I'm wrong here. Feel free to make requests or suggestions for other BIRD things you may want to monitor through Nagios. I was thinking of writing a plugin that monitors a specific prefix or destination and ensures there's a route. But if there's other ideas out there, share, and I'll consider them. No routes seen, as32 issue?

Hi bird-users, I'm having a problem with the latest member I've connected to the route server. I followed the same procedure as the others (generating the config file with a script), but although the session is actually established, he doesn't receive any of the routes announced on the route server. bird> show protocols all MYPEER Routes: 1 imported, 0 exported, 35 preferred Route change stats: received rejected filtered ignored accepted Import updates: 1 0 0 0 1 Import withdraws: 0 0 --- 0 0 Export updates: 1 1 0 --- 0 Export withdraws: 0 --- --- --- 0 BGP state: Established while, for example, for our router (MIX) it shows: bird> show protocols all MIX Routes: 1 imported, 635 exported, 34 preferred Route change stats: received rejected filtered ignored accepted Import updates: 1 0 0 0 1 Import withdraws: 0 0 --- 0 0 Export updates: 1009 1 0 --- 1008 Export withdraws: 372 --- --- --- 372 MYPEER announces only one network and I'm actually receiving it both via the direct peering and the route server, but he doesn't receive any routes from the other neighbors. He is not sending any communities to the RS, nor he is filtering. He just applies a specific local preference to the bgp session with the RS. MYPEER has a 32-bit ASN. I know that BIRD (I'm running v. 1.2.2) is AS32 compliant, but this is the only difference with respect to the other RS participants. Any clue on where to look further? showing all possible AS-paths?

Hello Bird-users, Is there a way to get all route AS-path's information , and not just the slected path? either all, or just a specific route? RIP multicast is receiving, but can't transmit

Hello! I'm setting up a test environment with Ubuntu 10.04 and BIRD 1.2.3 from the PPA. First step was to try and get a simple static route announced with RIP.
